CAGES
Let it be know that I love my children dearly. They are the breath in my body, the heart in my chest and the reason for my soul. But at times it is hard. CAGES Alone He in his jail cell ; Me at my table No visitors : No lovers No one to hold us close in the dark of the night Trapped He by his bars Me by my children Our freedom extracted by our choices He hates his prison I love mine Penpals Exchanging letters and photo, an occasional phone call He tells me little I tell him everything He calls me his life line I call him my sanity Gifts He says I give him hope. That the world has not forgotten him. He give me an outlet, validation as a person For skills beyond the world of my 6 year old Worlds Two different worlds : two different lives He, USA, a criminal Me Canada, a single parent His world begins anew in 2011 I don’t know when my life with begin again.
