Candies
You taste so bitter You taste so sour You taste so salty From all those rains of wars and grey. You skin is cracked Here and there And you fill up those cracks With melted wax So that no one really sees How imperfect you are. And your hair And your smile And everything about you, Is so bewitching. Time’s fleeting You’re losing, You’re stepping closer And closer to your grave. Your childhood, Its gone. Just like your innocent mind And flawless skin And everything turns yellow to grey And everything that you had hidden before, Are long gone Except those candies Which you had hidden under your bed To savor your childhood For the last time. And those sweet rains of sugar Drench your skin, As you whisper to yourself quietly “I want to live too”.
