severe and somber granit solemn monument guardian of a soul black and heavy fencing entryto the end of the road for stars who wander and wonder I know you, stranger we have not met before our different paths join without comment but with a smile and a tear despite sweat and blisters still upright and alive radiant and serene I know you, stranger we can feel the invisible link we touch it we hold it and we’ll try to pass it on atoddler feeds the pigeons undisturbed jumps over the shell of St. James and into the first chapter of the story of her life
