It protects itself When attacked Hair standing staight up Claws out Spitting........... Ears back Mouth-wide-open-tail-twitching Fight or Flight Sometimes................. The cat curls itself Contentedly Optimistically Into a naturally resisting ball And confidently Lets the world go past Containing itself Happily
