Caught
Restless, kohl-rimmed worlds meet silently. Hurry up and wait with no expectations. You know she's ready when you are. Her gaze catches your eye with idle fascination. The exchange of smiles is brief, but potent. Caught on a barbed-wire fence; black "wings" flapping in the wind. And every time I see it I am startled once more. And just for that moment I imagine a crow struggling to break free.
