memories of pain why do they haunt us so? following our every step tears in the heart, heavy laden spilling over onto the soul it's cold here, drowning in the midst of this deluge darkness and despair everywhere, feeding our stagnation with fear the outlook is bleak prognosis dim when stumbling around in the dark, is there no hope for the downtrodden when life slams and cuts pushing us around without recourse, where does the strength come from when you're all alone grasping for anything that feels like relief the bottle lies no answers it gives we run to the street corners and wait, with our eyes fastened upon those passing by, oblivious to this rage felt inside...
