Chained - Nightmares of peace
Forgive me self I know exactly what I've done I welcomed harm in guise of shining sun Now I lie in pain, writhing for their eyes Who dwell in shadows and feast on hate and lies Nightmares of peace remind me from whence I came Torture teasing shall I get there again Or scream in darkness, where only spectres hear My eyes not echoing the honest cries of fear In the rubble of ash and smoke I hide I burned my innocence and with that thusly died Just a pale broken tattered soul remains That still wears the guilt and shame as slaving chains.
