Changing Perspective

·Mental Journey

It used to be about me, How would I enjoy the time, What was fun, what was exciting, What would I like to do today, Then it was all about us, What would put her hand in mine Activity for two was the right thing What shall we do today, Now sitting with eyes closed Listening to the waves I am sure my perspective has changed Now it’s all about them, What will make them happy, I do my best for my son I make sure to let him have his fun And mix in what I know he needs Being sure to take the heat, “Be mad at me. It’s okay. Taking care of you is my job.” I tend to say, For my mother-in-law It’s an easy job Let her complain Smile and nod But for my wife, I use all my heart, And mostly answer “What do you want?” She thinks I forgot how to have fun And calls me the old cranky one, What I wish she’d understand I don’t need a better plan Being there to see their smiling faces Is all I need to be happy.

Mental Journey

I am on a journey of the mind. Contemplating the universe on every scale, and doing a complete introspective exploration. I may never be a literary academic, but I share my humble thoughts in hope that they may inspire others.
