City Lights
Such singing going on in the skies The stars are putting on a show They do so every single night Tirelesss little performers A fresh breeze cuts throught the warm summer air every now and then It’s never alone It brings along the smell of cold grass glistening with dew Blooming trees Sometimes also dog shit But that’s the way it is And I wouldn’t change a thing We sit on the same hill once again Our little kingdom Atop all the busy and the so called important Where we come to look down On the city half asleep To hopefully get a glance At the bigger picture Between us lies a different shade of silence One that’s not uncomfortable This one, we crafted ourselves Our very own secret language That tells us more than all the words ever could And it can never speak untrue Altough it’s not the first of such nights And the next of them will not be much different I cherish it not unlike a father does days with his child Because he knows one of them will be the last And with the first light When a new day dawns upon us I hope it would have at least A pinch of the magnificence Of tonight Such singing going on in the skies The stars are putting on a show The streetlights, the cars, The banners, the neons All of the sleepless windows A constantly changing mosaic of light And there’s so much beauty when your eyes Lay lost in all the city lights

Hi everyone. I'm a 23 years old guy from somewhere in the middle of Europe. English is not my first language, which may or may not be fairly noticable at times. I decided to use this forum as an outlet. I'm far too shy to submit my stuff anywhere...
