Close of Day
The night calls me even though it's still noon It blocks out the sun with a dark red moon To find its reason, I search the runes They say the fate of night strikes soon The darkness touches the tip of my toes It tickles my foot wherever it goes It festers my soul, feeding on my woes Killing each redemption seed my soul sows I try to find the sun in my fantasy eye But its easier to marvel the stars in the sky Under night's power day begins to cry And black birds of prey rejoice as they fly For the sun will never shine and night always stay Destiny and fate have willed it this way The birds will never sing and children never play And the darkest hour strikes at close of day. Note: This is a poem about trying to overcome depression
