Clouds Melt Before You

28 Dec 2010

·Boffin

As you played on your own The shadows divulge their lifeless bones And as you sleep the clouds rush to meet your lips Then swallow your soul at your lifeless finger-tips You day-dreamt for days before meeting your end Because light and death were your only friends Please don't close your eyes, please not yet You always spent your time in the clouds Don't you forget And as i held your body in these hands You struggled but you would never understand The power you had nestled in the clouds betrayed you Along with those secrets you kept locked away Don't you remember those rain drops you would swallow? Just to taste the clouds tears I remember how you flew and closed your eyes 'Just keep your eyes on me', I would say But you still kept skipping in the clouds night and day Please don't forget that when you go Keep skipping and closing those eyes And please remember me when you do Because you know and I know the clouds melt before you I'll see you on the other side.
