coastal fees (sonnet)
coastal fees the ocean breeze and coastal host against the highway seem to press on him down the drive to Coos coast; his knuckles pop with overstress and the many seashells about the beach put in mind his suitcase and the many trinkets en-route; the straps out of nowhere unlace. they jumped, the items, overboard. he dropped anchor, and misfortune weighed him to reclaim his lost hoard along the beach that afternoon. stop, take time to think, or lose sight there's forever a fee for flight.
