Come Walk With Me
Come walk with me down our hidden path in the woods, the one we strolled when the world was young and we talked about our future, or holding tight to each other’s hands didn’t have to speak at all. We skipped stones across the waters of the murmuring creek or plunged in unclothed and pretended to be otters at play. Let’s pretend again, this time that the world hasn’t changed and there’s no holding hands, a future uncertain, unspoken. It’s overgrown now, our once well-worn trail, but I’m certain we can find it. You don’t have to walk in my shoes, only next to me for awhile once more, but just come walk with me.
