Tender flesh and slender steel Razor's edge so she can't feel The darkness bottled up withing Remains of someones in-named sin Stagnant fear and stunted pride Painted smile while her heart died Day to day while her heart died Control the pain, control the fear To still the voice that you can't hear Its in my head, I'm all alone "You cannot help me I'm in control" Exposed vein, and stainless steel The needle's in so he won't feel The anger bottled up within Remains of generations of sin Growing fear, and bitterness Every day to seek his fix, Every day a brush with death Control the pain, control the fear To still the voice that you can't hear Its in my head, I'm all alone "You cannot help me I'm in control" End of pain and end of rope Eyes wide shut and end of hope The sadness bottled up within Seeking help but fear still wins Growing darker all around Hoping that he will be found ... is there hope to be found? Control the pain, control the fear To still the voice that you can't hear Its in my head, I'm all alone "You cannot help me I'm in control" Calloused flesh and rusted steel Crown of thorns, the blood is real The darkness beaten back by Him To cleanse the world of untold sins Conquered fear, and sundered chains A true smile, and yet was slain To rid me of my sin and stain Release the pain, and the fear The still small voice that you can hear I'm in your heart, you're not alone Rest in me Just let go. *** *** *** *** *** This is one of my earlier attempts at writing poetry. So, its a little rough... and the last stanza was just re-written before I posted it. I trued to keep it in the same "feel" as the rest of the poem. Critiques are very welcome as always. -dB
