Cosmic Rendezvous

·TheNightShift

The cosmonaut was gazing out from his starship’s glass He saw a huge rotating sphere of cosmic swirling mass Shooting spears of brightness with blinding silver glare A stellar map showed him that there should be nothing there His instruments malfunctioned from magnetic interference His controls were unresponsive and had negative adherence The sphere was looming closer it was on collision course He tried to steer his ship away was held back by a force Communications were all severed all he heard was static He reversed the engines’ thrust found only failed pneumatics The sphere was a kaleidoscope of multi coloured light Shimmering and glimmering and super nova bright In many shades of green and blue, red, purple and magenta With an ominous black hole right at the very centre The gravity was pulling hard with stellocentric power The starship was bombarded by a sudden meteor shower Then it was getting drawn inside a darkened vortex funnel Hurtling at the speed of light through a cosmic tunnel The ship was badly shaking and rocking and rotating It shuddered and it juddered the chassis was vibrating ........ He is floating in tranquility in the midnight skies He drifts within in a dream, and a vision in his eyes He speaks to Ground Control from an escape shuttle pod ‘This is Alpha Seven calling, I just rendezvoused with God’
