Covenant
once, in an earlier life, I sat by an open window embraced by a vernal breeze both warm and cool, inhaled the sea mist spiraling its effervescence down the length of my spine, his words breaking open my intellect igniting an unbidden passion and knew I was forever changed. no solstice of regret or stones from the river of loss for what could never be, my being expanded to include the gift of promises never to be kept, lessons unlearned, loves betrayed, wings humbly folded in acceptance of the no-grief bargain accomplished, yet my spirit dancing wildly against gravity’s alluring magic, intoxicated with the drug of wisdom
