I could turn to face the sunlight If my coward heart would dare Only those who fear the future Turn their backs toward the flame Certain sure the dancing shadows Give Reality her name But I yearn to feel the colours Taste the sunlight on my tongue Touch a rainbow with my fingers Watch a year grow old from young So I tinker in the caverns Where the shadows stupefy Plato’s voice is here to plague me “Turn and look toward the sky! "All those shadows undulating Are but dust motes to deceive Socrates had all the questions Truth and lie can interweave." Even time itself is fickle I have written this before Wasting time may be my forte Coward heart! I’ll waste no more!
