Cricket on the Green

Cricket on the Green Oh so very English this pictursque scene Of white flannelled men on the village green Old pub in the corner, church that's older still Horsenut tree's and cottages oh very tranquil. By the pavilion laughter, as they practise catching leather With anxious eyes to the heavens worried over weather Tea is ready in the corner, a cake hard to ignore While bribed boys outside turn tins and keep the score. Stumps pitched, coin tossed, bowler ready for the fray Umpire me, a bit player in this play in this play, calls play Home captain, first ball pads hit. ALMIGHTY SHOUT Reality takes over, shit, finger up to give him out.
