with surgical conviction you took your aspirations making damned sure to slice beneath, where no scars lay to hinder and cut away some fraction still remaining that one last ray of hope now raw and bleeding. forget tender and pulsating there is no ending here, no sunny skies so, was this all bullshit, our brief reprieve? we breathed relief, I could have sworn I thought, or so I have been thinking, cheap mirrors smashed around this happenstance, a vestige thrown ... truth splashes wide and quick, a flash perchance the ugly step-sister spits, but no one listens, no one hears but you can see so clearly, right? past masturbating mantras unencumbered sighing falls flat ... it was all a lie! concocted on the fly in measures shared doled out like certain crinkled shards, tart. yet sprinkled light with honey, those swelling hearts did turn if only for a second's pause, why drop the mask and kill this crowd known for standing tall and proud, even gleefully? up to our knees in crimson now soaked, and raging free to seek its own ...
