Crush
As my eye catches a glimpse of her My heart begins to race My palms sweating profusely Face blushing bright red. Just to utter a word, seems nearly impossible Too nervous to say something, too scared of embarrassing myself. As the night roles on, each minute growing shorter and shorter Wishing and wanting to confront my crush before she leaves Before she walks out and im left wondering for another day Suddenly, the words come steam rolling off my tongue My mind seeming to function all on its own Words not even registering in my head, the words abruptly stop I suddenly become a deer caught in head lights, waiting in silence for her response. Wondering what I had said, yet still relieved knowing I had done something Said something Then, suddenly my eyes and ears perk up as I begin to hear her soothing voice. Her voice stops after only a few syllables My head drops quickly, I exhale the deep breathe I had been holding for what seemed like an eternity….
