Cupid's Arrow
Cupid’s Arrow Cupid’s so cute: his little bum sticks out, and he’s all wrapped up in smiles, valentines, and lace; And his little bow and arrow look so tiny, so harmless, even inviting; But the little devil caught me by surprise and shot me in the heart With no regard for reality or consequence. I have to get this thing out, but arrows have a nasty design: To try to take one out is very messy and very painful. Open heart surgery would be best, but there’s no surgeon here so I’ll do it myself. I get a sterilized knife and a rib spreader and make the cuts. It’s not going well. I’m no surgeon, and it’s difficult to operate on yourself. The damn thing just won’t come out— it’s in too deep. Now I’m in trouble, and it’s all a bloody mess. Help.
