Currents (Cinq-Cinquain)
Wind-swept, My life has been Stormy seas and leaf-dance, Cast adrift on careless currents, Random. Two steps Forward or back, And sometimes side to side, No path ahead, no safe harbor, Life's wiles. Beguile, Those witches' woods, These sirens' rocky thrones, Sending our compasses astray, Fickle. Yet still, Glance of sunshine, Or temporary calm Shows the way ahead and I doubt The chance. Aimless? Accidental? Or life's rearrangement, Moving me where I need to be? Design. The Form CINQ-CINQUAIN: From the French, meaning "five groupings of five." The Cinq-Cinquain consists of five Cinquain. Each has five lines, with two, four, six, eight, and two syllables, respectively, with twenty-two syllables per stanza.
