Daddy's Seeing Stars
sunny summer nights, rays still piercing the dark. and my dad in the drive; spotting sparks, finding mars. Little me little sisters stumble, called out of bed. finding daddy with the stars on his head. Trickle(tear) down his cheek, the sting of alcohol. Little me gets the feeling that he isn’t here at all. daddy whispers constellations; calls the meteors. All the things that little me cannot see in the dark. Little me goes back to bed, trailing glittered dreams. leaving daddy with no answers underneath the stars that see his eyes and puncture through his thoughts. They must give him answers[elixirs]; something I cannot.
