Damn It To Hell

Forbidden Love. Forbidden Love, don't leave me... Your eyes and my love for you gave me hope that maybe there is such a thing as love. You once made me think that perhaps I could have love, and share that love with you. Now I don't know what to think. You're leaving me, leaving me too soon. A shot at love is so fleeting, and I fear we've lost ours before we've even had a chance to taste its bittersweetness. Forbidden Love. Forbidden Love, don't move on with your life just yet. How can you take off when my imagination still shows me images of you and I? You and I, in a clearing in the woods, with silly little sandwiches and silly shy glances. I can beg you to stay this way because I know you feel it too. You, too, see the images of your lips on my little cheek, on my forehead, on my nose. You may try to deny it, for righteousness' sake, but you see them too. I can be this convinced because the hope you gave me, with your knowing smile, is so strong and sure, so tough and brave, so broad and rebellious, so audacious, that if it ever turned out to be false, my life would end of its own accord. So don't leave me, Forbidden Love. Time's always been against us so let's fight back. Yes, Time has set opposite paths for you and I, but we have free will. Don't let Time stop love again. Damn Time. Damn it to hell, Forbidden Love.

I write poems every now and then, when the weight of my own thoughts gets too heavy for my mind.
