Darling Girl

Darling Girl. We only held you for a while and then we had to part. Sweet, gentle, happy soul, still laughing and playing in our heart. And sometimes, yes, we cry, for the years that might have been. Years of watching you grow up now we know shall never be seen. But we know you are in Heaven now, making our Lord smile, precious, beautiful angel, only lent to us for a while. But darling girl, here, since you left us, O how your spirit has grown, what hope and inspiration with every fallen tear is sown. There is not one single moment we pray that you could still be here, but others have hope because of you, so we know that you are ever near. Wait for us in Heaven now darling girl, for we know that you are not alone and one day, precious one, we will come to be with you …at home. Jayne McDonough @2008
