Death of a Dream

·sorrow

Dawn came but left the day behind, Darkness sticking to spirit, confusion taints the mind, Drown my thoughts in music, but conflict is all I find, Drained by emotional masturbation and the ties that bind, Dare you touch my heart and promise streets of gold? Damned by the faceless ones and the stories that they told, Dense with colourful content but no substance, Depend on a house of suppression, built by ignorance, Do these shards that impale the soul serve a purpose? Demented dreams that are so well hidden from the surface, Death in the eyes of perverse “angels”, false gods of vindication, Devoid of emotion, comfort and inspiration, Devils and demons dance at the sight of you, Delivered from their prison, payment now due, Devising a plan to lead the broken and the blind, Dawn came but left the day behind.
