Desolate Ronin

Hungry, ravaged, and cold stricken, I find myself standing towards a steep edge An edge with jagged rocks and a path of great unknown, All I can see ahead of me is a great yellow hope. And as I make my descent from this cold, jagged edge, I feel my heart skip a beat because I see what lies ahead for me; Great plains that mother nature once basked in green for eternity Now, is left to a company of crows that await ushering the next series of souls To a place with an even greater unknown All that I have left, that I carry with me on this life affirming journey Is my sword, my wisdom, and my truth And a promise kept in blood made for two A promise that defines a person of pain, love, and loss, That when my war is done I will again, one day, be reunited with my love Where we will find peace together, Forever in the sun.
