·Ilse

Early one morning he decided to surprise his only daughter For her birthday he would give her a special present Her mother recently passed away and left her a bracelet Her initials on the inside, memories of good times for her He went off to the shop to get it polished Walked in whistling a tune he cherished As he approached the counter he felt something was wrong Negative atmosphere, someone present who did not belong Next to him stood a man with a mask, armed and dangerous Demanding money, diamonds and all valuables Took his bracelet knowing to him it was worthless Fled leaving the man unspeakable The thief ran away but the owner took chase Authorities notified, now a big race In his hurry he dumped the evidence in a garbage bin The bracelet fell on the pavement next to a soft drink tin An old lady came past and saw what he had dropped Needed money and decided to take it to the pawnshop Received enough to buy her a warm meal Owner polished it nicely for his next deal A boy forgot to buy a gift for his valentine Went to the pawnshop for he had no time Gave her a bracelet that night when the candles burnt bright She left it on her bed, in her heart a feeling of delight While studying the next day, she left it on a tray A crow spotted the shiny object, took it and flew away Over the houses and over the park It slipped and fell next to a man’s barking dog The man picked it up, wondering who’s it could be Turned around seeing a little girl crying under a tree Walked up to her saying “here’s something to brighten your day” She looked at the bracelet, didn’t know what to say Saw her mother’s initials, couldn’t believe what she was seeing Destiny proved precious gifts just keep on giving Ilse
