Diamond of Life
Diamond of Life Must we all go on … packing eternal bits of pain and grief from all the times in our lives we failed, or felt pain? We, as a people, must endure! Life will throw us curve balls on this diamond of life. It might throw many curve balls to each of us; many will be missed, others will hammer into us the “ching” of the bat by which they were hit. They will be sure, solid and good. We must act…run fast to first base while we can, maybe even second or third. We might make a Home Run! What if the “ching” is not heard, and we do not run around the diamond of life? Are we sorely shamed by those who are watching us fail? Do we allow their haughtiness to stop our progress, keep us from holding our head high and giving it another shot? We have no good reason to lurk in the shadows. Do we really let the team down? Is there “one” who can raise their hand into the air and say, ‘Not I,” I have not been stopped by failure or pain. No. They have lied to themselves, for, there is no perfect man, only men to be perfected. Stand tall, Keep playing. If at times we are injured and limp. It’s ok. The triumph is in continuing to play, It is a brilliant rush as the cool air, hits our face, and we go on… to pass home plate . Yes! I am a Registered Nurse.. I have loved writing for as far back as I can remember. My first writing was experienced by drawing as a child. In 7th grade I wrote a poem about Abraham Lincoln that won an award and was read on the radio in Salt Lake City....
