Dodging Bullets
Dozens of bullets whiz by my head grazing my shoulders and side the concrete floor is splattered with red Warm flesh and cold metal collide the air is shattered by repercussions a hole rips in me, pain rips in me dodge another gift from that blasted gun the brand ‘life’ on the side I can clearly see Can’t take it anymore, let apathy take control see if I care if more blood will flow i’m out of breath, lost count of every hole I’m in a gun fight with no ammo Stare the shooter straight in the eye refuse to budge another worthless inch mouth the words, i’m not afraid to die trigger clicks, aimed at my heart, try not to flinch it’s pathetic how apathetic pain can make you be ____________________ I scraped my other poem Apathy, and rewrote the consept with more of a show don't tell atatude.
