Dont Give Me a Vacant Kiss
I think this poem has promise, but it needs work. Please offer any suggestions, observations at all! Don’t Give me a Vacant Kiss Don’t give me a vacant kiss; look me in the eye and say my name. Don’t buy me a greeting card; show me how you really feel. Don’t just buy me roses on special days; help me with the boring stuff, the dirty work. Don’t toss out a flat, automatic “I love you:” administer a strong dose of your whole mind and attention. Don’t tell me what you think I want to hear: tell me what you actually believe. Don’t apologize until you’re deeply aware of how I hurt. Don’t spray blank words in my general direction: shoot real emotions and aim for my heart. Don’t give me a vacant kiss. Look me in the eye! Do you even remember my name...
