Dreary Mindset
Dreary Mindset How do I describe…. Death...in a walking corpse, Pain in every smile. And torture in every motion? Glazed eyes, Red pupils. Fear stained pulse, Sounds in bleeding ears. Take the trip, Inside thy mind. If you want… Regret. Enter a pleasant room, gold wallpaper, mahogany wood, A stone floor. Feel tranquility but don’t look up, There is a ceiling full of tension. And when it meets your eyes… Only hell can describe. The storm you have unleashed, And the understanding you acquire. Have you ever stood in the rain, And wished you could become it. Have you ever seen a dirt road, And wanted to follow it. If so...you’ve laid in the tub and sunk your head, Begging why don’t I drown? But you have never done such acts, Had such desires. You do not understand my sentiment for death, And what this poem holds. Shame you are so, Human. May 2007 Sheena Allen
