Earworm Song

(We’ve all become too grave.) Roundworms flatworms slick and slinky like a snake see them crawl see their squirms. Ringworm bane to man heartworm bane to dogs nothing good about the worm as drearily through the dirt it slogs. But one worm bears the distinction of being most dreaded of its kind and this is the foul earworm ghastly songs that toy with the mind. They’re never the favorite tunes the ones that cause us to melt their sheer persistence annoying bring feelings that shouldn’t be felt. Examples are many I’m sure you know but let me be kind and share just a few. The Hallelujah Chorus is a tribute to our Lord but endless hallelujahs in the mind will drive you out of your gourd. Stars and Stripes Forever honors this land of ours but when it is stuck inside the brain love of country sours. Christmas is a time of joy so we have Christmas in Killarney but when in our heads in an endless loop it becomes just so much blarney.
