Empty Gaze of a Lie
It is the empty gaze of a lie Appearance of a blank page but with invisible ink I tilt my head Look in his eyes to see the possibility of truth But I can’t find it My features un-provoked bring him bad memories Punishment not only for my indiscretions Professionals make the condition valid Still doubt remains No possible mistake would cause such a drastic move The use of a tragedy to discipline in military fashion for crimes unknown Attention he has received with negative tone Creating anger and dreams of abandonment in the one designed to bring happiness Brainwashed by a faith with no morals and consumed by hypocrisy Becoming only a donor to me Joining my other creator in the ultimate goal of releasing me My decision to stand by him makes my heart feel lighter Leaving his side impossible My brain programmed to constantly and flawlessly strive for his approval This verse has no ending

I write poetry when I want to express a feeling I have and do not have a verbal outlet. I am a CPA for a large bank. Divorced, with a 2 year old son. I ride dirt bikes every weekend. Not much more too me than that.
