End of Innocence

(written a couple of months ago on my front porch. i enjoyed writing this one. I felt very calm afterwards. I love that feeling....rabbling) A young man runs from all he knows, Into the forest of Innocence he goes, He wants to flee from what he's learned, His spring of youth has been burned, By the fires of lust, hate and greed, He runs still deeper and finds the tree, He marvels and gazes at its might, And watches as its stretches over all he sees, The Day ends and on comes the Night, He curls up and finds comfort in its leaves.
