Erector Set
Building a Life I think I’m an erector set! Not fully put together yet... Built piece by piece with skin and bone, Then bundled up and taken home It seemed at first I worked quite well, I had so many tales to tell. Ispoke and talked and even ran, My hair grew long, Igot a tan. But soon found my heart could break, And into sadness it would take my spirit and my soul along. I dreaded losing my heart’s song... My soul turned soft and I would cry The tears would fall from each brown eye When all in life seemed, oh so wrong, I lost my bright and silver song. And when my loved ones went away, I was close by to hear them say, "Farewell my Mom, or truest friend" Their love; and light would sure transcend. Now that I’m old and broken in I understand each bend in tin. They come from things that are endured And make us human evermore. IlaMae Stucki © 4/26/10

I am a Registered Nurse.. I have loved writing for as far back as I can remember. My first writing was experienced by drawing as a child. In 7th grade I wrote a poem about Abraham Lincoln that won an award and was read on the radio in Salt Lake City....
