Escape My Thoughts
I wake up in a pool of cold sweat The dream still fresh in my mind I attempt to focus myself in the present Separating reality from what is fake, I try But somehow I am unable to do this For the dream has followed me from its realm I lay there, frightened, co-mingling with what is fake That which was once fiction now begins to overwhelm There is no hiding from what is part of you Though I cower under the covers, seeking protection from my dreams I think I'll be safe if I ignore my thoughts But my thoughts are under these covers with me
