Exhaustion’s Window

·Mental Journey

The world turns on and on For those who live to care for it But when all your strength is gone, A window opens for a bit Fog and clouds help block the light From blinding you while you work, Liquids rain, and wash away the pain, While you hold together your world But the window now shows That the core’s gone cold, That you work for the sake of work And your body’s grown weak and old, But new knowledge brings hope And choices to be made, Where in darkness once you’d grope New hope can light the way
