Expectations

(Meant as a song) I wonder if there is a secret to perfect marriage And why would someone choose to deal with all our damn baggage? And why does famous "love and cherish till death do us part" Work half the time when put to test of Matters of the heart? And after searching high and low for One ground-breaking clue It dawned on me - the answer was so Simple yet so true Just don't expect too much Just don't expect too much You'll never feel let down, mad or wronged In fact, it's better yet In fact, it's better yet If you expected nothing at all Let's take a look at the example: Brand new clothing - stained All dishes - dirty, trash - still smelling Bed is never made. Imagine you NOT going crazy - Shocking - don't deny! - Especially if we consider Nature of the crime But hypothetically speaking, What if you'll just sigh And feel deliriously happy Rent's been paid on time? Just don't expect too much Just don't expect too much You'll never feel let down, mad or wronged In fact, it's better yet In fact, it's better yet If you expected nothing at all
