Extinguished
I was switched off like a light To just turn and begin this new fire. The fire inside to which I have been burnt, Scars cover this body, aching my core, My insides are burning, my body unscathed. But yet inside, my passionate desires grow. My yearning unbeknownst, the fire gets brighter Longer this feeling lingers filling my soul with pain. This injury I can't see, but I feel it within, But yet unto me I become overwhelmingly consumed. Consumed, violated by the burning becoming hotter. My love intensifies, securing my insanity, My thoughts become flames, my soul is scathed, My heart unfurls and flutters, anxiously waiting. I'm breathing in the smoke of your unwilling desire, The stench of your relentless beauty. A smell residing inside of me that negates all other, You are me and I am you, As one we rise with the flames as our vessel, As our temple, our altar, our bodies collide. We start to coexist, we've finally arrived. Now is our time, our moment, And we disappear in the air, intertwined in the flame. Tangled together, caressing each second greedily Knowing inside us the flame will soon die. We clutch one another, holding each other tighter. The rain starts, a part of us disappearing with each drop, Desperately we cling to the invisible embers, Our ashes sprouting into the air, I reach for one last embrace. Slowly I crawl away from our splendor, I'm watching from afar as the last flicker dies. Lonely and unsatisfied, death now my only companion.
