Face on a Burnt Heart

I write my heart a love letter I secretly draw your eyes in the dark [Pause] I write your face …. I write my heart on your face [Pause] Then, I calmly rip it all apart [Pause] My lover’s in a picture hung in my room Staring at the ceiling and her casual prison [Pause] Your eyes are the history of all the tears You travel in the fear behind the burnt garden The tunes of the birds are so intense And the time of the roses is so filled with thorns [Pause] Heart pulses of love and death in the dark Go beyond the secret hidden under my house And you still exist among the burnt memories Of the unlocked world without my silver key
