Fallen Angels
That´s where we used to sit, you see? There up on that shelf. I dont know who it was fell first, Him or just myself, But one of us could hold on no more And so he just let go. Yet as he plummented down to earth, He said "I love you so". I couldn´t bear it up there alone, On his pedastal. I couldn´t hold the weight that with His broad shoulders he could still. So I followed him, on his own path, Knowing together we would break. But as a movement caught my eye, I realised my mistake. There they stood, where you are now, Kissing hand-in-hand. And when they turned to look at me, I knew that she was glad. Then as they walked away again I think... I´m sure I heard Her saying, as she turned to him "She got what she deserved". I tell you now so you can say, If anyone ever asks, Despite it all I can blame neither Of them for their pasts. Now it's the end of everything And this may be my last song, So with it may I quickly say: I´m glad you came along.
