Fallen Leaves
Won’t you walk with me? The days grow cold and brown winter leaves fall I miss your voice blowing in the wind, Yet I miss you so much Rome fell for its corruption, Money fell from the sky as Rome became a fiery haven Yet it brought a madman laughing and playing the fiddle Each and every day goes by the leaves fall, Each and every day I blend in with the leaves, You only loved what made you better, You made me want to fade into the leaves To be forgotten by those above me Passion is to save the lonely Greed is the desire to save your self Suffocating in your greed Drowning in your weight Everyday I disappear Just a spec in the wind On a distant ear Only loved when I am gone Your heart became to heavy You sank in the wind on these lonely November nights And yet I watched all these people go by But here I am all alone Unnoticed and forgotten Words which scented my soul The child gave thought to the poet’s society Comforted the fallen leaves The poet in me died long ago He died for the child reborn Innocence reborn once more
