Sugar finally came back From the grocery store With several bags Of groceries galore Sugar rang the doorbell And asked Bob to open the door So Bob opened the door And he helped Sugar put the groceries away “I like being nice to the ones I love.” Is what he likes to say Sugar asked Bob If he wanted to go to the park Sugar said “We can stay Until it gets dark Just me and you And nobody else I just want to have you All to myself.” Bob said “Sure that’s a great idea How far is this park from here?” Sugar said “Not too far Don’t worry have no fear For you I will always be here.” Later they went to the park Holding hands in the dark Reminiscing on good times Which could possibly be a sign Anyways they decided To sit by the lake While looking up at the stars The moon was bright and it was something to appreciate They continued to sit there and talk They were too lazy to go for a walk Sugar crawled on top of Bob And they started kissing They started to play fight which was something That their relationship was missing They rolled over into the lake And started splashing water in each other’s face Laughing and giggling without a care in the world Bob was happy to say That he was lucky to have this girl They got out of the lake And dried off Changed into their spare clothes And started drinking soda pop Sugar told bob That she had brought a couple of beers One for him and her They both made a toast And said “Cheers!” Sugar asked Bob If he wanted to come back to her place Bob said “Sure I’ll race you.” And after Sugar he chased By Glenn McCrary © 2009 Glenn McCrary (All rights reserved)
