Fate is overrated.

You asked me, “Why do I have to carry this burden, why me?” Why you? Because you have no mule. Our beasts burden us as much as we can endure and then once that is reached they puncture our poignant necks with their glistening fangs and suck out all that is keeping us standing leaving us gasping from the shock that there is a way to feel more empty. Why you? Because there is no anti-venom. Because there is no white knight riding in to save you; he is busy fighting his own beast. The most anyone can ever do is empathize, and empathy is no consolation at all. Fate is overrated. She told me, “Your mind is beautiful, can you share it with me?” With you? Always with you. I’ll tear off the cover leaving only pages to be devoured. Hell with the spine, organization is only prohibiting comprehension. Let me flay myself out before you so that the sheets are scattered and awry from the furious passion of trying to engulf and caress them all. With you? Never with you. For the most endangered of my thoughts that slowly erode when contacted with the light can only take so many exposures. You flipped through them greedily, adding them to your album, your repertoire, only to ask for more, only to show them to others as your own art. So with you? It’s already too late. Fate is overrated. Go ahead, ask me, “How is it connected? How can you claim to understand?” How do I understand? By pure hubris. I greedily lap up any dish you lay before me only to dwell on your lack of praise. Of the seven, which is the worst? Yours. His, hers, and mine. To try so hard to make even imperfectness perfect. It never ends. So, how do I claim to understand? Because I am in of the same. It is all gasellshcaft; ends to justify the means. Ends that are very carefully thought out. At the same time, do not despair. Ends can meet ends, however briefly it may be. Fate is overrated. So instead, choose me.
