Fervent Transition

Seamless, painless…, suddenly Strange it seems, yet everydaily Like the path to the village stream Well traveled and worn Everything changes Once tender and malleable The rooster awakens to his maleness Asserting his newfound voice His counterpart, louder than ever Marries the mirror with livid affection Flaunting her fast rising twintowers The tree overgrows its roots betimes The youthful sun outruns the graying moon Old habits die hard for sure But not in the face of poignant change Days have turned to months Months quickly matured to years Like the famed oriental bamboo Lasses turn ladies Boys to men
