Feverdream

·Emnelo

Darkness, beating, pulsing, stretching, fingers of torment, fingers of death. Grasping, pulling, drawing, dragging, drawn into darkness, down into death. Drowning in darkness, cannot escape it, fingers of evil, stopping my breath. It's after my soul and I cannot withhold it, drowning in darkness, coming to death. Light through the darkness, death's horrors stall, giving me hope, returning my breath. But hope deserts me, and light lets me fall, back into darkness, smothered in death. Note: This is about a recuring fever dream/hallucination I had during 9th and 10th grade. If you've had any crazy fever dream/hallucinations, write a poem about 'em and let me know. I'd like to know what other people have experienced.
