Fireworks night
The train seat floats beneath me through space Lights crane their necks to see as we pass them by Motionless and wide eyed As little pellets of light escape Into the everlasting dark, They pause to stretch their limbs Lift their faces and breathe in the smooth dark skin of the sky, Before spilling down onto their static sisters. What relief they must feel To be iced by their playmates freedom (and safe return). Their movement washes away shyness And they dance in time with the clack of the tracks.
