For The Love Of A Dog

FOR THE LOVE OF A DOG There's something to be said about the love of a dog, because the love they give, is unconditional! When you come home from work, they do greet, as if you've been gone for weeks and weeks! If you are sad and a tear will fall. They'll come to console you, and lick them all off. They don't care what you do for a living. They don't care what kind of car you're driving. They don't care how much money you make. They don't care whether you shaved your legs! They don't care whether your intelligent or not. They just love you the way you are. They don't care for expensive presents. They'd rather play at chasing rabbits! They don't care if you have to fart. You can even blame it on them if you want! How great is that! Dogs are LOVE! WordPlaya, Jan 2009 *************************************************** Excerpt from Mr. Bojangles We danced for those at minstrel shows and county fairs Throughout the south We spoke in tears of fifteen years How his dog and him They travelled about The dog up and died He up and died After twenty years he still grieves by Jerry Jeff Walker When I read these words to Mr. Bojangles, it made me realize how special our pets are! That's what inspired me to write this poem!
