Forever night and day will seem To each other but a dream One shall take the other’s place And lay upon the bed of grace Which the mighty sun does leave So night or day may seek reprieve To sleep in golden sheets of fleece Made with love from lambs of peace And dipped in dripping flames so bright The stars do close their eyes so tight And even cherubim do squint Watching Day or Night lament In this mighty bed on fire Waiting for each one to tire So to bring about this time That only sleeping will they find When in each others fading gaze Within their dreams they both can stay Knowing soon they will awake And face their destiny and fate As lovers destined just to catch A tiny glimpse of whom they match Come dawn or dusk and you can see The purest lust which longs to be But the Love it can’t become For the Sun does keep them from Ever joining hands at last But just to kiss as they do pass…..
